Catalogue-Booklet of the exhibition
The Secret Archives of the Warsaw Ghetto
Emmanuel Ringelblum and the Oyneg Shabbos group.
By Georges Bensoussan.
The Catalogue-booklet of the exhibition presents a selection of stories, chronicles and detailed reports from these archives
which illustrate the underground life of the ghetto: the building committees, the Jewish Mutual Aid (ZSS),
and cultural and religious life. The effects of hunger, tuberculosis and typhus morbidity and the impact of forced labor are examined.
Careful analysis of the records of the bureaucratic killing machine shows the intentional, ever- worsening cruelty of persecution, in particular the suffering from cold and hunger.
